Two of the biggest names in Japanese MMA will be in action at Deep-Jewels 23 next month. The all female promotion features both Kanna Asakura and Reina Miura on a fight card at the Korakuen Hall on March 8th.

Deep 88 is set for the same venue the following night. But on Friday it is all about the female fighters with Asakura (13-3) looking to rebound from her submission loss to Ayaka Hamasaki at Rizin 14 on New Year’s Eve.

The Japanese atomweight has not fought for Deep-Jewels since 2017 and has been matched with an experienced opponent for her return. Asakura faces newly crowned atomweight champion Tomo Maesawa (12-8) in a non title bout.

Miura (10-2) has been matched with a significantly less experienced opponent. ‘King Reina’ faces debutant Mao Ueda who competed for Deep-Jewels in an amateur bout last month and won by decision.

Fresh from her submission win over Loma Lookbonmee at Full Metal Dojo 16 last year Suwanan Boonsorn (2-1) has been handed the opportunity to compete in Japan. The Thai submission specialist has been matched with Emi Sato (4-2) who is riding a four fight winning streak.
