A featherweight fight between a UFC veteran and a top prospect has been added to the Pancrase 305 card. The experienced Issei Tamura has been booked to take on in form fighter Kazumasa Majima on May 26th.

The matchup was announced on Twitter today:

Tamura (12-9) went 1-2 during his UFC stint but has won five fights out of seven since returning to Pancrase. He captured the interim featherweight title in 2016 and is one of the top featherweights on the roster.

Majima (12-1) is eight years his junior and is currently riding a ten fight winning streak dating all the way back to 2014. This will be his first Pancrase fight in nearly four years and he remains one of the brightest prospects in Japan.

Pancrase 305 is set for Studio Coast in Tokyo and will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between Isao Kobayashi and Nazareno Malegarie. It will also feature a welterweight trilogy bout between Japanese legends Yuki Kondo and Akihiro Gono.

As previously announced the card will also feature a flyweight fight between Mamoru Yamaguchi and Toru Ogawa and a bantamweight fight between Takeshi Kasugai and Hidekazu Fukushima.

Next up for the promotion is Pancrase 304 which is set for Studio Coast on April 14th. The flyweight and lightweight titles will both be on the line.
