Harold Banario returns as late replacement at Brave 20
Harold Banario will be making a comeback at Brave 20 according to reports in the Philippines. The Filipino featherweight has stepped up as a replacement for Keith Lee and will be facing Angad Bisht at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.
Banario (4-1) hasn’t fought since 2015 when he saw his four fight winning streak snapped by Mark Abelardo, who would go on to enjoy success with Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series. On December 22nd he faces Bisht (3-1) who is an SFL veteran and has already fought four times this year.
Banario fights out of Team Lakay and is one of three brothers to have forged successful careers as mixed martial artists. One of them, Dario Banario is a bantamweight who hasn’t fought since 2013 but has a perfect professional 3-0 record.
The most famous of the brothers is Honorio Banario. He holds a 14-7 record and will go down in history as the inaugural ONE Championship featherweight champion and the first Filipino to ever win a title with the promotion.
While Team Lakay’s biggest names are all signed to ONE Championship the Baguio based camp has seen several fighters enjoy success with Brave. Most notably Stephen Loman, who holds the bantamweight belt and was honoured with a parade in his hometown last weekend.
