Angela Lee will be conducting a seminar in Singapore. The reigning ONE Championship atomweight champion appears to be returning to the public eye after a period out of the spotlight following the tragic death of her younger sister.

Angela has not fought or conducted any seminars since her sister, Victoria Lee, died suddenly at the end of 2022. She has been doing a lot of charity work and raising awareness of several causes like suicide prevention but has not been active as a martial artist.

While it remains to be seen whether Angela will ever fight again she is conducting a seminar at Evolve MMA in Singapore next month:

Mental health

All the proceeds raised by the seminar will go to Fight Story, the charity started by Angela in the aftermath of her sister’s death. It is a nonprofit group created by combat athletes to provide a platform for everyone to share their fight story, provide resources and spread awareness about mental health.

Fans are waiting to hear whether Angela will return to MMA or not. Earlier this year Chatri Sityodtong said he expected her to retire but she is yet to make a formal announcement.

She will be in Singapore to attend ONE Fight Night 14. The event is headlined by a fight between Seo Hee Ham and Stamp Fairtex that will have the interim atomweight title on the line.

Career crossroads

Angela is clearly at something of a career crossroads. Should she announce her retirement then either Ham or Stamp will become the undisputed atomweight champion.

But if the 27 year old decided to fight on then a unification bout with the winner will surely be on the agenda. She has already beaten Stamp once, making a successful comeback after giving birth to her first child.

But Stamp did hurt Angela with a body shot in that fight so there would be plenty of interest in a potential rematch, even if the champion did recover and win by second round submission.

Decorated champion

While Ham might not be quite as big a name in Singapore as Stamp she has a much more impressive resume. The Korean held the Road FC atomweight and Rizin super atomweight titles before signing with ONE Championship.

Ham is on a nine fight winning streak and has picked up two titles since her last loss, which only came by way of split decision. Should the Korean win a unification fight between her and the regular champion would be absolutely huge.

Angela must surely have made up her mind by now but the decision has not been made public. We will find out sooner or later what the future holds for her but she will definitely be doing a seminar at Evolve MMA on September 30th.
