Angela Lee has taken to Instagram to question the antics of a former opponent.

The reigning atomweight champion gave some detail about the buildup to her 2017 title fight with Jenny Huang in a scathing post:

The pair met in Bangkok with Lee winning the fight via TKO in the third round at ONE: ‘Warrior Kingdom’. It was the first defence of an atomweight title she still holds to this day.

Lee made a post detailing how a stranger (later revealed to be Huang) had asked to grapple with her at a ONE event a few months prior. It took place ‘in the group warm up room’ and Angela’s brother Christian was competing on the card later that night.

Lee assumed Huang merely wanted a few tips. But she was left surprised and annoyed when Huang ‘wanted to full on go.’ She described her reaction by saying,

“LMAO, I was mad but kept it together cuz my Brother was up soon and I didn’t wanna cause any drama.”

Lee did not forget about the exchange, and jumped at the chance to face Huang in the ONE circle a few months later.

“Oooo I was so happy, I said YES immediately.”

The champion was not too impressed by what followed either, and lambasted Huang for her behavior in the lead-up to the bout.

“At the press conference / face-off’s she was talking trash in CHINESE and when the translator translated what she wanted to say, I shook my head and laughed at this clown.”

Lee was able to dominate Huang in the fight, controlling the Chinese fighter on the ground and keeping one hand pinned behind her back. She was then able to unload several clean punches to her opponent’s face until the referee called a halt to the contest.

“I had soooo much fun in this fight & Obvs, Jenny did not…Haha the end.”

Travel restrictions from the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic have meant that Lee has been unable to compete for a year.  She last defended her belt against Xiong Jing Nan at ONE: ‘Century’ in Tokyo.
