Babar Ali will be in action at ONE Friday Fights 53 this week. The Afghan flyweight has been matched with Chayan Oorzhak at Lumpinee Stadium on Friday.
Ali (7-2) beat Fritz Biagtan at ONE Friday Fights 44 last December. He put an end to the Filipino’s winning streak by grinding out a unanimous decision win.
That victory extended the Afghan’s winning streak to three. His previous victories had been over low calibre opponents but Ali made a real statement by beating the former URCC atomweight champion.
Oorzhak (7-2) is coming off two wins on these cards and they have both cone inside the distance. At ONE Friday Fights 23 the Russian, who is of Mongolian descent, finished Avliyohon Hamidov in the first round.
At ONE Friday Fights 29 he put away compatriot Andrey Chelbaev. The Russian failed to answer the bell at the end of the second round and Oorzhak could be in with a chance of winning a multi fight contract if he can make it three wins in a row on Friday.

The main event is also a flyweight fight. Former Rajadamnern champion Phetsukumvit Boybangna faces former Lumpinee champion Kongsuk Fairtex with both looking to rebound after back to back losses.
The other MMA fight on the card is in the featherweight division. Russian Nachyn Sat (4-2) takes on Azerbaijan’s Tural Askarov (4-1).
