Jeff Chan has signed with ONE Championship. The Canadian bantamweight holds a 3-1 pro record but is better known as a Youtuber than a fighter.

He broke the news on his Instagram account earlier this week:

I have always been very vocal about my plans with you guys, which is focusing on creating accessible martial arts content for everyone. Helping others is what motivates me and I am extremely passionate about what I do. I have mentioned several times that I have no immediate plans to continue fighting, but when @onechampionship reaches out to you, it’s one of those rare opportunities in life that you can’t simply turn down.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and trained with me. I hope you continue to follow my MMA journey as I make the big move to @tristargym_mtl @firas_zahabi and continue posting some amazing content! @ottawamartialarts @yodchatri @victorcui @fredstonehouse @barrhavenmartialartscentre

Chan has over 130,000 subscribers on YouTube, more than 350,000 followers on Facebook and nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram according to the South China Morning Post. He is also coming off back to back wins in his native Canada.

He began training Muay Thai at the age of 15 and went on to enjoy a successful amateur career, before turning pro. Chan made his MMA debut in 2012 and his most recent win was at BTC 4 last November.

ONE Championship has a strong contingent of Canadian based fighters including Bibiano Fernandes, Gary Mangat and Arjan Bhullar. Chan plans to relocate to Tristar in order to prepare for his promotional debut.
