Abu Dhabi is proving to be a lucrative destination for the UFC. Conor McGregor took to Twitter to share the official total of PPV buys for his last fight there.
According to the document McGregor shared UFC 257 sold over 1.5 million PPVs:

The event at the Etihad Arena was headlined by a rematch between McGregor and Dustin Poirier which the Irishman lost. If the numbers are accurate it would make UFC 257 the fourth biggest event in the promotion’s history, at least in terms of the number of PPC purchases.
What McGregor doesn’t show is exactly how big his cut was. It was estimated he might receive something in the region of $20mn as a bonus once the PPV numbers came in, although the actual figure could be higher.
We won’t have to worry about the charismatic Irishman running out of cash any time soon. And the UFC knows that Abu Dhabi is a viable alternative to Las Vegas for its marquee fight cards.
