Christian Lee rematches Edward Kelly at ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’
A featherweight rematch has been added to ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’. Edward Kelly and Christian Lee will fight for the second time at Istora Senayan in Jakarta on January 19th.
The first fight ended in disappointing fashion when Lee (10-3) was disqualified for an illegal suplex. It would have been a knockout win for the Singaporean/Korean under the old ONE Championship rules but he used a technique that is now considered illegal.
Kelly (11-5) has been fighting for ONE Championship since 2013 and is a veteran of 11 fights for the promotion. He joined Team Lakay relatively late in his career and has won five of his last seven fights.
The only other fighter to hold a win over Lee is reigning featherweight champion Martin Nguyen. The 20 year old needed less than three minutes to finish Japanese veteran Kazuki Tokudome last time out and will be looking for another fast finish here.
As previously announced ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’ will be headlined by a strawweight title rematch between champion Joshua Pacio and challenger Hayato Suzuki. The event will also feature the likes of Kotetsu Boku, Masakazu Imanari and Koji Ando.
There are now 14 fights on the card at ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’ which is the first of 24 events on the ONE Championship schedule for 2019.
