Eddie Alvarez will face Iuri Lapicus in a lightweight fight on an upcoming ONE Championship card. The event will take place at an undisclosed location on April 7th and will be broadcast live on TNT in the US in a prime time slot.

Alvarez (30-7) is the former UFC and Bellator lightweight champion. He was last seen in action stopping Eduard Folayang in the opening round at ONE: ‘Dawn of Heroes’ in 2019.

Lapicus (12-1) is coming off an unsuccessful title shot. He was stopped in the opening round by lightweight champion Christian Lee at ONE: ‘Inside the Matrix’.

The card will be headlined by the long awaited flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes. This bout has been in the works for over a year now and has been rescheduled numerous times.

Johnson (30-3) won the ONE flyweight Grand Prix last year, beating three separate opponents to get his post UFC career off to the best possible start. He is universally accepted as being the best 125lber of all time after a glorious career inside the octagon.

Moraes (18-3) has lost three fights, but every single defeat has been a debatable split decision. He is a three time ONE Championship flyweight champion but has successfully defended the belt just twice.

The card also features a Muay Thai fight. Flyweight champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon faces promotional newcomer Jacob Smith in a non title bout with both men wearing MMA gloves.
