The first stop on Eduard Folayang and Joshua Pacio’s US tour is Jackson Wink in Albuquerque. The two men are set to train at a number of different locations in the country according to reports.
Folayang and Pacio were among the fighters who recently announced their departure from Team Lakay. The two former ONE Championship title holders have decided to head overseas in order to try and resurrect their careers.
Pacio isn’t exactly struggling. He might be coming off a loss but the 27 year old has won four out of his last five fights and every single one of them was a title bout.
By contrast Folayang hasn’t fought for a title since 2019 and has lost seven out of his last nine fights. But the 38 year old still believes he can turn his career around and is constantly training.

Sparring partners
While Pacio probably won’t find many strawweights to spar with the gym is home to UFC veteran John Dodson. These days the American is one of the top contenders in Rizin’s newly formed flyweight division.
Meanwhile Folayang should be spoiled for choice when it comes to potential sparring partners. Among the current Jackson Wink fighters around his size is Steve Garcia who had a big win at UFC 287 last weekend.
The two men are reportedly set to train at several gyms in the US. They will be cageside for ONE Fight Night 10 on May 5th so are spending at least a month in the country.
Another camp which Folayang and Pacio will reportedly be visiting is Kings MMA in Huntington Beach. It looks set to be a busy few weeks for the former champions.
Both men will be hoping that this training trip can help them to recapture the form which saw them crowned ONE Championship champions. Pacio and Folayang might not be with Team Lakay anymore but they are clearly still very focused on achieving their MMA goals.
