Rolando Dy’s on/off relationship with the UFC appears to be off. He signed with the promotion in 2017 and was released after back to back losses only to be offered another fight as a last minute replacement later that year.

Dy stepped up at late notice to win a decision over Wuliji Buren in Beijing. He was rewarded with another UFC fight, facing Shane Young in Singapore and the Filipino picked up a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus despite being stopped in the second round.

However it appears that the UFC decided not to offer Dy an actual contract. The 27 year old took to Facebook to inform fans that he is currently a free agent:

As Dy explains, he is still hoping the UFC will offer him another fight but is free to explore opportunities elsewhere. The son of former boxing world champion Rolando Navarrete, he spent the majority of his career competing with PXC.

Dy picked up a $50,000 bonus after his last fight but obviously didn’t do enough for the UFC to offer him any guarantees about future fights. He holds a record of 9-7-1-1 and at the age of 27 should be approaching his athletic prime.
