The first two fights for the UFC Busan card have been released. The event is set for Sajik Arena on December 21st and will be the promotion’s second card in South Korea.
Two top ranked flyweights will face off when #4 ranked Brazilian Alexandre Patonja (21-3) faces #10 ranked American Matt Schnell (13-4). The former is coming off a decision loss while the latter is riding a four fight winning streak.
There will also be a clash between top ten ranked European light heavyweights. Switzerland’s #7 ranked Volkan Oezdemir (16-4) takes on #10 ranked Aleksander Rakic (12-1) from Austria.
This will be the promotion’s second card in South Korea. The first was UFC Fight Night 79 in 2015 which was headlined by Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal.
UFC Busan is likely to feature several Korean fighters. The likes of Chan Sung Jung, Doo-Ho Choi, Kyung Ho Kang, Kwan Ho Kwak, Jin Soo Son, Seung Woo Choi and Ji Yeon Kim could all be in contention for a spot on the card.
