Kunlun 80 is set for the Chongming Stadium in Shanghai on February 24th and features a super heavyweight and a super welterweight tournament. The former consists of eight fighters participating in three rounds while the latter consists of just the semi finals and final.
On board for the super heavyweight (>100kgs) tournament are Daniel Sam, Asihati, Haime Morals, Iraj Azizpour, Rade Opacic, Liu Wei, Martin Pacas and Roman Krykilla. The super welterweight (<70kgs) tournament will be contested by Davit Kiria, Feng Xingii, Marouan Toutouh and Dzianis Suev.
The quarter finals of the super welterweight tournament took place at Kunlun 77 last October. Kiria beat Nordin Ben Moh, Xingii prevailed against Jonay Risco, Toutouh bested Anatoly Moiseev while Suev progressed at the expense of Vlad Tuinov.
Toumoyuki Nishikawa faces Zhu Baotong in the alternate match for the super welterweight tournament. There will also be a ‘super fight’ pitting bantamweights Anissa Haddaoui and Zhang Ye together.
In the past Kunlun has promoted numerous MMA fights but these days the focus seems to be firmly on kickboxing.
