Joshua Pacio named Jarred Brooks as the weakest when asked to rank three top strawweight contenders. That did not go down very well with ‘The Monkey God’ who wasted no time in firing back at the Filipino,
“I’m the worst fight for Pacio out of the three he mentioned and I think he’s mad that I’m in the promotion, most likely going to take his belt.”
The UFC and Rizin veteran has yet to make his promotional debut but points out that he has never lost a fight at strawweight,
“Pacio has not faced the new wave of strawweights, so I hope he enjoys it while he can. I have not been beaten in strawweight.”
Best ever
In fact Brooks’ only two career losses both came with an asterisk. He dropped a split decision to former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and knocked himself out slamming Jose Torres into the octagon floor.
While he will probably need to beat a contender or two to earn a shot at the belt Brooks is very motivated ahead of his ONE Championship debut,
“ONE Championship has amazing fighters and I’m super exited to show my skills on the big stage. I want to be known as the best strawweight ever.”
Interesting technique
Brooks has an interesting technique which makes future opponents seem less intimidating. He likes to imagine them in their underwear,
“If i imagine them all in there whitey tighties they all don’t seem that tough.”
These are worrying times for Pacio and everyone in the division’s elite. A 16-2-0-1 Rizin and UFC veteran is coming for them, and he’s picturing them in their underwear.
