Jun Yong Park will be back in action on October 29th. The Korean middleweight will be looking for his second win of the year when he takes on Joseph Holmes in Las Vegas.

Park (14-5) squeezed past Eryk Anders at UFC Vegas 55. The 31 year old has been on the roster for three years and has won four out of his six fights in the octagon.

Park has ridden his luck at times with his most recent win coming courtesy of a split decision. He also beat Tafon Nchukwi by majority decision with a point deduction effectively costing the Cameroonian the fight.

Fast start

Holmes (8-2) secured his spot on the roster with an impressive performance on Dana White’s Contender Series. He is coming off a submission win over Alen Amedovski at UFC Vegas 55.

Standing at 6’4″ he is one of the tallest fighters in the division. After going undefeated as an amateur he made his pro debut on a Bellator card but came up short.

Holmes would turn things around and win seven fights in a row with every victory coming inside the first two rounds. He has never won a fight by decision and is likely to try and make another fast start on October 29th.

Best of the rest

The event looks set to be headlined by a featherweight fight between Edson Barboza (22-11) and Ilia Topuria (12-0). The #13 ranked Brazilian has a clear advantage in terms of experience but the #15 ranked Georgian has never lost a fight.

When it comes to experience there aren’t many heavyweights on the roster with more of it than  Andrei Arlovski (34-20-0-2). The 43 year old held the UFC heavyweight title in 2005 and is still going strong, he takes on Marcos Rogério de Lima here (19-8-1).
