Lee Jeong Young is set to return from injury at UFC Fight Night 235. He has been booked to take on Blake Bilder at the event on February 3rd which doesn’t have an official location.

Young (10-1) won the Road to UFC featherweight tournament in February. He beat Yizha by split decision in the final but it turned out the Korean had been fighting with a serious knee injury.

Having secured a UFC contract he immediately underwent knee surgery to fix the damaged ligaments. After sitting on the sidelines for a year the 28 year old will finally resume his career in 2024.

First defeat

Bilder (8-1-1) earned his contract after impressing on Dana White’s Contender Series. He scored a decision win over Shane Young at UFC 284.

The American came up short against Kyle Nelson at UFC 289, suffering the first defeat of his entire career. He will be looking to record his second win inside the octagon at the expense of a Korean opponent coming off seven straight wins.

Best of the rest

It isn’t clear which, if any, of the six fights currently on the card will serve as the headliner. In middleweight action Roman Dolidze (12-2) will be hoping  Nassourdine Imavov (12-4) stays healthy after seeing his last two opponents pull out.

At heavyweight Thomas Petersen (8-1) makes his official UFC debut. He has been matched with fellow Dana White’s Contender Series Jamal Pogues (10-4).

Aliaskhab Khizriev (14-0) owns one of the most impressive records out of any fighter on the roster. The undefeated Russian will be competing on a UFC card for the second time when he takes on Tajikistan’s Makhmud Muradov (26-8).
