Loma Lookboonmee made it three victories in a row with a unanimous decision win over Bruna Brasil in Las Vegas this morning. The Thai strawweight got the better of the Brazilian at UFC Vegas 86.

This was Loma’s first fight in a year. She suffered an arm injury in training that required surgery and has not been seen in action since her submission win over Elise Reed at UFC 284 last February.

Loma landed some kicks and elbows in the opening round before dragging the Brazilian down in the closing seconds. There wasn’t much action to speak of in the second round but the Thai was slightly busier.

At the start of the third Brasil caught a low kick and countered with a hard right hand. She followed it up with a superman punch and started to look more of a threat in the striking exchanges.

A clinch against the cage ensued with Brazil starting to set the pace. With the fight coming to a close she was able to trip Loma to the floor but couldn’t capitalize with any strikes or submission attempts.

A couple of the rounds were close but in the end all three judges scored it 29-28 for Loma. She improves to 9-3 while her opponent drops to 9-4-1.

Best of the rest
