Having suffered some nasty looking injuries on his UFC debut Mark Striegl finally has his sophomore appearance set. The Fil-Am featherweight will be fighting Chas Skelly on February 19th.

The former URCC featherweight champion broke the news on Instagram:

The event doesn’t currently have a venue or a main event although we guess it will be taking place at the Apex Centre in Las Vegas. Striegl will be returning to 145lbs having made his UFC debut as a bantamweight.

It didn’t exactly go to plan. The 33 year old was stopped by Said Nurmagomedov in under a minute at Fight Island 6 and suffered a broken orbital.

He was scheduled to face Johnny Munoz at UFC 261 earlier this year but Striegl pulled out of the fight for reasons which were never made clear. It means he won’t have got a fight in during 2021, the longest he has been away from the cage since turning pro.

His UFC debut had already been delayed after he tested positive for Covid-19.  Fingers crossed that Striegl will be fit and healthy for his return to competition in February!
