Korean / American wrestler Mia Yim has been released by the WWE. She was one of 18 entertainers handed their walking papers by the wrestling promotion last night.
The full list of wrestlers looking to find a new home is:
Frankie Monet, Ember Moon, Jessi Kamea, Katrina Cortez, Jeet Rama, Oney Lorcan, Trey Baxter, Zayda Ramier, Scarlett, B-Fab, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado, Karrion Kross, Harry Smith, Nia Jax, Eva Marie and Keith Lee as well as Mia Yim.
Born to a Korean mother and American father she is one of the few Asian faces on the WWE roster. In 2016, she was listed as one of BBC’s 100 Women.
WWE’s viewing figures have been decreasing partly due to competition from rival AEW. Last month the flagship Monday night Raw show registered the lowest viewing figures in the key 18-49 demographic in the show’s history.
It seems WWE has responded by making some cuts and, unfortunately for Yim, she was one of them.
