ONE: ‘Roots of Honor’ will feature two title fights. In the main event Martin Nguyen defends his featherweight title against Narantungalag Jadambaa while Yosuke Saruta‘s strawweight strap will be on the line when he rematches Joshua Pacio.
Nguyen (11-3) had a brief stint as lightweight champion and also challenged unsuccessfully for the bantamweight belt. He is now back at featherweight and looking to make the second defence of the belt he won in 2017.
Jadambaa (14-5) is a former featherweight champion and is coming off back to back wins in 2018. The Mongolian will be looking to become the oldest fighter to ever win a ONE Championship title.
Saruta (19-8-3) won the strawweight belt after beating Pacio (16-3) by split decision at ONE: ‘Eternal Glory’. However even the promotion’s CEO Chatri Sityodtong disagreed with the decision and the Filipino has been handed an immediate rematch.
ONE: ‘Roots of Honor’ is set for the MOA Arena in Manila on April 12th. Nguyen is currently in California to prepare for his fight, training alongside reigning middleweight and light heavyweight champion Aung La Nsang.
