The Rajadamnern birthday show is always one of the biggest Muay Thai events of the year. The famous stadium opened its doors on December 23rd, 1945 and that occasion is commemorated annually with a special fight card.

This year’s Rajadamnern birthday show is set for December 26th and will be a co-promotion between Petchyindee and ONE Championship. The former has a reputation as being Thailand’s number one promoter while the latter is a world famous MMA promotion which also holds Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing matches.

Petyindee promoter Nuttadaj Vachirarattanawong shared the news on Facebook yesterday:

Since the old Lumpinee Stadium was demolished Rajadamnern has established itself as the home of Muay Thai. The biggest fights and fight cards are generally held in this venerable old stadium where current champions include Petutong Or Kwanmuang, Yodlekpetch Or Pitisak and Youssef Boughanem.

Yodlekpetch is one of several top Thai fighters to have signed with ONE Championship. He is joined on the promotion’s roster by several names from the the Petchyindee stable including Petchdam Gaiyanghadao (pictured), Sorgraw PetchyindeeAcademy and Petchmorrakot Wor Sangrapai.

Meanwhile former Petchyindee fighters now plying their trade with ONE Championship include Sam-A Gaiyanghadao and Nong-O Gaiyanghadao. It remains to be seen how many of these names will appear on the December 26th card but between them these two promotional powerhouses have most of the top talent in Muay Thai signed up.
