ONE Championship is Brazil bound. Vitor Belfort looks set to make his promotional debut at an event in São Paulo that will either take place towards the end of this year or in early 2020.

The UFC veteran has been involved in a series of meetings in his homeland this week. Brazilian website Tatame reported that a deal was in the works for ONE Championship to put on an event in Sao Paulo headlined by Belfort.

The card will also feature Matheus Serafim and he is quoted in Tatame as suggesting it will take place in a 30-40,000 capacity stadium in Sao Paulo. For this reason the veteran middleweight suggests that February is a more realistic timeframe than November.

A possible headliner could pit Belfort against Roy Jones Jnr. The 42 year old has been vocal about wanting to face the multiple time boxing world champion although it remains to be seen whether this is a realistic proposition, or what the ruleset would be.

ONE Championship will not have to look too far to find Brazilians to put on the card. Adriano Moraes holds the flyweight title, Bibiano Fernandes is the bantamweight champion and veteran welterweight Renzo Gracie might also be involved.
