Ramona Pascual has been training in Las Vegas and the Hong Kong national was back in action at Ikon 7 on Friday. She had to travel to Mexico and move up a division but the gamble paid off for the 32 year old who won with a first round keylock against Guadalupe Guzman.

Pascual started attacking with knees and kicks from the southpaw stance immediately. She swept her opponent’s leg and continued attacking from side control.

Guzman, who was making her pro debut, attacked with a leg lock but couldn’t complete the submission. Pascual reestablished side control, trapped the Mexican’s left arm under her knee and looked to crank on the right arm.

Bad spot

It was a bad spot for the 21 year old who was eating elbows and punches to the face. She was too busy protecting the right arm to defend herself from the shots and blood began to pour from her face.

Pascual eventually locked in the keylock and the tap came at the 2:50 mark. The Hong Kong native moves up t0 5-2 while Guzman drops to 0-1.

Afterwards the Hong Kong native hinted that bigger opportunities should await when she returns to the US,

“I feel incredible, I’m excited for what’s next and it’s going to be soon. I can feel it.”
