Reug Reug is back in the game and there is only one name on the Senegalese star’s lips. He has mended bridges with ONE Championship and wants a shot at heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin.

Having declared that he was a free agent the 31 year old, whose real name is Oumar Kane, appeared to be heading for pastures new. But Reug Reug will be back in the ONE Championship ring before too long and hopes to be handed an immediate title shot.

He is waging an online campaign of intimidation against Anatoly Malykhin and declared today that,

“This fake champion Anatoly Malykhin has been put on notice by his bosses.”

Clown emoji

Reug Reug’s choice of words is interesting. English isn’t his first language but the wrestler appears to be suggesting that ONE Championship have already informed Malykhin that he is next in line to face him.

Of course Malykhin knows all about trading insults on Instagram. He spent several months calling Arjan Bhullar a chicken before finally securing a title fight with the former champion.

The Russian responded to Reug Reug by calling him a clown in the comments. He even left a clown emoji next to the comment to that Kane wouldn’t need to translate.

Reug Reug certainly sounds confident. He declared that,

“It’s not bragging when you back it up, I’m going to take the heavyweight division to levels never seen!”

Three in a row

Reug Reug has won three in a row. He earned a $50,000 USD performance bonus for the most recent victory, winning a wild three round war with Marcus Almeida.

Afterwards it emerged that had been the final fight on Reug Reug’s contract. He declared that he was a free agent and even called out heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua.

Reug Reug appears to have had a change of heart and it sounds like he has signed a new contract with ONE Championship. The Senegalese star wants Malykhin next and the two men look to be on a collision course in 2024.
