ONE Championship will be planting its flag on Russian soil next week according to a report. Road to ONE 4 is set for Yekaterinburg on November 28th.

The card will be put on in conjunction with Russian promotions RCC and FFL. No matchups have been announced but fighters in action include Vladimir Kuzmin, Tamerlan Bashirov, Viktor Mikhailov and Maksim Petkevich with the event set to feature a mixture of MMA fights and kickboxing bouts.

Nikolay Klimenko, executive director of RCC and Fair Fight, was quoted as saying,

“It is very important for us to give impetus to the development of kickboxing in Russia. We’ve already held 13 tournaments, formed a permanent roster of fighters, identified champions in three different divisions and are ready for the next step in development. We are glad to be working together with ONE Championship.”

He also confirmed that this would be the first in a series of events in Russia,

“There will be a pilot tournament in November, and if everything goes as we plan, next year we will hold several more shows, including in MMA.”

There have been three Road to ONE events in Japan to date. They have all been promoted by Pancrase and Shooto and have featured up and coming fighters looking to earn a spot on the main roster as well as established stars like Shinya Aoki.
