Sam-A Gaiyanghadao is set to make the first defence of his flyweight ONE Championship Muay Thai title in Jakarta next month. The Thai veteran will face Jonathan Haggerty at Istora Senayan on May 3rd.
Sam-A won the title last May by stopping Sergio Wielzen. He has not seen action since but will be defending the belt for the first time at ONE: ‘For Honor’ where he faces an English opponent.
Haggerty beat Joseph Lasiri on his ONE Super Series debut earlier this year. Coincidentally Sam-A’s only other win for the promotion also came at the expense of the Italian opponent.
ONE: ‘For Honor’ is one of two events the promotion has scheduled for Jakarta this year.
