Matrix Fight Night 9 is set for Delhi on June 24th. The main event pits Sanjeet Budhwar against Đorđe Stojanović in a catchweight contest.

Budhwar (7-2) made his debut back in 2013 competing for the now defunct Super Fight League. He is a veteran of five Matrix Fight Night bouts and has won three of them.

Stojanović (5-1) hails from Serbia and has never fought outside of Eastern Europe before. His five wins have not come at the expense of experienced opponents.

International fighters

Another catchweight contest featuring international fighters was also added to the card this week. Puerto Rico’s Seth Rosario will be taking on Afghanistan’s Zahoor Shah.

Rosario (5-3) has spent his entire career competing in India. He made his pro debut on a Super Fight League card in 2015 and also fought at the inaugural Matrix Fight Night event.

Shah (2-0) is coming off a quickfire stoppage win over the experienced Srikant Sekhar at Matrix Fight Night 8. The Afghan appears to be based long term in India too.

Female fighters

As previously announced two of the promotion’s top female fighters will be in action with Jojo Rajkumari and Puja Tomar both confirmed for the card.

Rajkumari (1-1) will be the co-main event. She has been matched with undefeated Filipino Mary Jane Buna (3-0) in a strawweight contest.

The Indian is coming off a submission win over Ishika Thite at Matrix Fight Night 7. Meanwhile the Filipina has not fought since 2019 when she won three fights in a year.

Former foe

Meanwhile Rajkumari’s former foe Tomar will also be on the card. She has been matched with Tenzin Pema in an atomweight fight.

Rajkumari and Tomar faced off at Matrix Fight Night 6 in an atomweight fight. The contest could not have been any closer but the latter would ultimately prevail by way of split decision.

Rajkumari has subsequently moved up to 115lbs but Tomar (5-4) is still plying her trade in the atomweight division. The ONE Championship veteran has been in with the likes of Stamp Fairtex, Jihin Radzuan and Bi Nguyen.

Rajkumari will have experience on her side when she takes on Pema (1-2) who hails from Tibet and has a background in Wushu. She will be making her Matrix Fight Night debut.
