The fight between Stamp Fairtex and Denice Zamboanga has a new date. It will now take place on June 8th at Impact Arena in Bangkok with the Thai putting her atomweight title on the line for the first time.

Having already waited five years to challenge for the title Zamboanga probably wonโ€™t mind having it delayed by a few more months. She was promised a shot at Angela Lee in 2019 but that was nixed when the champion became pregnant.

The two trained together at Fairtex and were friends. Zamboanga left the camp when both fighters were booked for the atomweight Grand Prix.

Fight postponed

Stamp (11-2) ended up winning that tournament while Zamboanga was controversially eliminated by Seo Hee Ham. The Thai would go on to defeat the Korean to win the vacant title.

Zamboanga (10-2) is coming off back to back wins. She saw her title ambitions derailed by consecutive losses to Seo Hee Ham, the first of which was extremely controversial.

Zamboanga has worked her way back into contention by beating Julie Mezabarba and Heqin Lin. The fight had been scheduled for ONE 166 in Qatar earlier this month but was postponed.

Original docuseries

The co-main event will be a rematch. Tawanchai PKSaenchaigym beat Jo Nattawut by decision at ONE Fight Night 15 in a non title featherweight fight.

The result was controversial, with many fans feeling that Nattawut had done enough to win. The rematch will have Nattawutโ€™s featherweight Muay Thai title on the line.
