Stephen Loman has signed with ONE Championship according to multiple reports. The reigning Brave bantamweight champion recently entered free agency and there had been much speculation about his next destination.
Loman holds a record of 14-2 and is riding an eight fight winning streak that includes wins over current ONE Championship fighters Gary Mangat and Mark Abelardo. He represents Team Lakay and has not lost a fight since 2016.
Loman’s team mate Kevin Belingon held the ONE Championship bantamweight belt from 2018 to 2019. He has lost his last three fights but is still at #3 in the rankings.
Loman’s record and recent form should make him an immediate contender in the bantamweight division. John Lineker currently sits in the #1 spot after his win over Belingon at ONE: ‘Inside the Matrix’ Part III last year.
Another bantamweight contender to emerge is Fabricio Andrade. He beat #2 ranked Shoko Sato at ONE: ‘Unbreakable’ Part III earlier this month but the rankings have not been updated to reflect this result.
