Shooto’s first fight card of 2020 will feature an undefeated Japanese prospect and three Team Lakay representatives. The event is set for January 26th at the Korakuen Hall.
In flyweight action undefeated prospect Tatsuro Taira (5-0) goes up against Jared Almazan (1-3). The former has a year to remember in 2019, beating three experienced opponents while the latter is coming off a loss on his Shooto debut.
Almazan is one of three Team Lakay fighters on the card. His training partner Jerome Wanawan (4-4) has been matched with Junji Ito (16-8-2) in a strawweight bout.
In the bantamweight division UFC veteran Motonobu Tezuka (33-13-7) faces Mamoru Uoi (22-7-5) and Takumi Tamaru (10-1-1) goes up against Nobuki Fujii (20-10-3).
The third fighter representing Team Lakay will be Zephania Ngaya she faces fellow newcomer Saori Oshima in the opening round of a super atomweight tournament.
