Tatsuro Taira is set for the biggest fight of his life at UFC Vegas 92. The Japanese flyweight has been booked to face Tim Elliott at the Apex Centre on May 18th.
Taira (15-0) has won all five of his UFC fights and is currently ranked #13 at flyweight. He only signed for the promotion in 2022 but is already the top Japanese fighter on the roster.
At UFC Vegas 92 he faces his first major test. The 24 year old has been matched with former flyweight title challenger Elliott (20-13-1) who is coming off a submission win over Sumudaerji.
In 2016 he won TUF 24 and was handed a shot at reigning UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. He went the distance, only losing by decision to an opponent widely regarded as being the best pound for pound fighter in the world at the time.
