The Korean Zombie took to Instagram to commemorate what he sees as a turning point in his career. It is exactly three years to the day that he was stopped by Yair Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 139 in the final second of the final round of a fight he was winning on the scorecards.

But it is not the defeat that makes that such an important week according to Chan Jung-Sung. It was meeting coach Eddie Cha:

Jung has won three fights out of four since that defeat and credits the coach with having turned his career around. For those that can’t understand Korean he explains how he thought he knew himself better than anybody until he met Eddie Cha on fight week.

Cha was able to highlight some holes in his game that The Korean Zombie wasn’t aware of. After the fight he realized that in order to take his career to the next level he needed to train with the coach, rather than putting together his own team.

Jung is currently ranked #4 at featherweight and is a veteran of ten UFC fights. It just goes to show you are never too old to learn something new!
