UFC veterans Yang Dongi and Lim Hyun-Gyu will have a homecoming under the Double G FC banner. The newly-established South Korean mixed martial arts organization has enlisted them to feature on its inaugural event on November 18th.

Double G FC 1 is set for the JangChung Arena in Seoul. Yang (13-3) hasn’t fought since 2015 when he stopped Jake Collier in the second round at UFC Seoul but he will be moving up to heavyweight to face former ONE Championship title challenger Paul Cheng (5-2).

After his win at UFC Seoul many thought that Yang would continue with the Las Vegas-based organization. However he had other ideas and decided to continue competing on the local scene only to see several scheduled fights fall through.

Cheng is coming out of retirement after three years on the sidelines. The last time spectators saw him in competition was at ONE: ‘Spirit Of Champions’ taking on Brandon Vera when the Taiwanese-Canadian was vanquished with a head kick 26 seconds into the first round.

In the co-main event Lim (13-7-1) faces a former ONE Championship title holder. Igor Svirid (12-6) was the promotion’s inaugural middleweight champion and went on to fight for ACB, although he did register a submission win over Joe Ray in Seoul last year.

Lim is coming off three straight UFC defeats but he and Yang recently left Korean Top Team to create Team Macho. Other members of the newly formed team include former PXC featherweight champion Kim Jang-Yong and current AFC featherweight title contender Lee Min-Gu.
