Lumpinee Stadium opened first opened its doors in 1956. There have been two different locations for the famous venue but few fights can have finished quite as dramatically as the ONE Friday Fights 51 main event did.
Wanpadet Looksuan faced Petchphadaen Jitmuangnon in a catchweight Muay Thai contest. The latter seemed on track for a clear cut decision win when he was knocked out in the final second of the final round.
Petchphadaen controlled the early action but the two men traded heavy leather in the closing stages of the opening round with neither able to earn a decisive advantage. Midway through the second stanza Wanpadet was on the receiving end of two hard elbows which sent him crashing to the canvass.

Historical win
Petchphadaen wanted to finish the fight but his opponent was able to survive and see out the round. Having already scored a knockdown he knew he was well ahead on the scorecards at this stage but continued to take the fight to Wanpadet.
A minute into the final round he landed a hard right hand that had Wanpadet backtracking. Petchphadaen continued to march forwards landing punches and elbows in the process.
Despite being well ahead on the scorecards Petchphadaen continued to apply pressure. It proved to be a mistake as he was on the receiving end of a devastating overhand right.
There was no question of Petchphadaen beating the count and the referee waved off the contest at the 2:59 mark. Afterwards Wanpadet was awarded a 350,000 baht bonus for a knockout that will go down in Lumpinee Stadium history.

The card had a last minute reshuffle with Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon and Soner Åžen losing their main event status. The bout took place slightly earlier than advertised and it was the Thai fighter who rebounded from a couple of recent losses with a hard fought decision win.
