Yryskeldi Duysheev looks like he could be a top contender in ONE Championship’s flyweight division. He extended his professional record with a late stoppage win over Magomed Magomedov at Lumpinee Stadium last night.
Duysheev hails from Kyrgyzstan and came into this contest at ONE Friday Fights 21 with an unblemished record. He got the first takedown of the fight when he caught a teep early in the opening round.
A series of scrambles ensued but Magomedov would spend he remainder of the round either defending rear naked choke attempts or eating knees to the body and head as he looked to get back on his feet. Duysheev didn’t wait for his opponent to throw a kick in the second round, pushing forwards and shooting for an immediate takedown.

Ground and pound
Duysheev briefly threatened with a north south choke and ended up in top position following another scramble. Magomedov was given time to recover after receiving a couple of light blows to the back of the head.
The action restarted with both men standing but Duysheev was able to secure another takedown as the bell sounded. He needed less than 30 seconds to get the fight down in the final round.
With two minutes remaining in the fight he secured side control and swiftly moved into mount. Duysheev unloaded with ground and pound and the referee stepped in to save Magomedov at the 3:19 mark.
With the win Duysheev improves to 7-0 and puts himself in contention for a ONE Championship contract. Magomedov drops to 8-2 after seeing his five fight winning streak snapped.
