Ahmad Wali Hotak has not fought in nearly a year. The Taliban has taken over in Afghanistan and MMA is effectively banned leaving the lightweight in limbo.

But he has not given hope and took to Instagram to reminisce about one of his wins in India:

Hotak holds a record of 10-1. The majority of his fights have taken place overseas although his two most recent wins were promoted by the now defunct Afghan promotion TGFC.

The TGFC promoter fled Afghanistan soon after the Taliban seized power. Hotak appears to still be there but he dreams of fighting again telling his 250,000 followers that,

“I hope to have new opportunities for such great achievements and celebrations soon.”

The message was accompanied by a video of his 2016 win over Farhan Ahmad Siddique at FCC 12 in Mumbai. Hotak is hoping more international opportunities arrive soon.
