The ONE: ‘Only the Brave’ card is shaping up to be a big one. The postponed interim heavyweight title has been moved to February 11th with Anatoly Malykhin set to face Kirill Grishenko for the strap.
The two were originally set to face off at ONE: ‘Only the Brave’ next week. But the fight had to be postponed after a positive Covid-19 test for Malykhin.
Malykhin (10-0) was next in line to face regular champion Arjan Bhullar who turned down multiple offers to fight him. The undefeated Russian is coming off a first round knockout win over Amir Aliakbari at ONE: ‘Revolution’.
Grishenko (5-0) has also won two fights out of two since signing for ONE Championship. The Belarusian has benefitted from Bhullar’s absence and will have the opportunity to fight for the belt.
The all Brazilian bantamweight title fight is also set for this event. Bibiano Fernandes will put his belt on the line against compatriot John Lineker at ONE: ‘Bad Blood’ on February 11th.
The bout had originally been scheduled to take place at ONE: ‘X’ last month and there is definitely bad blood between the two men. Fernandes accuses his opponent of using PEDs while Lineker claimed the champion was running scared and refusing to sign the contract.
