Amir Aliakbari‘s second appearance in the ONE Championship cage ended exactly the same way as his first one. With the ‘Iranian Beast’ flat on his back unconscious while an opponent celebrated wildly.

This time it was Anatoly Malykhin‘s turn. He tested Aliakbari’s chin early and it is fair to say that the chin did not exactly pass this test with flying colours.
Aliakbari got tagged in the early exchanges and never recovered. He was a totally static target and Malykhin needed no encouragement to win punches at his opponent’s exposed chin.
The end was nigh but when it did came the moment still drew gasps from the small Covid-19 limited crowd in attendance. A left hand from the Russian knocked Aliakbari out cold, the Iranian would have woken up to the sight of bright lights.
Next up for the Russian is a heavyweight title shot. Having been knocked out on the opening round in both his ONE Championship bouts to date the future doesn’t look so bright for Aliakbari. Unlike those lights.
