Bi Nguyen returns at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’
Angela Lee is set to fight at strawweight for the second time in a row at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’ next month. It means the atomweight title is vacant for all intents and purposes, and one contender in that division will also be in action on July 12th.
Vietnamese atomweight Bi Nguyen (5-3) will be looking to underline her title credentials with a win in Kuala Lumpur. She is coming off a first round stoppage victory against Dwi Ani Retno Wulan at ONE: ‘Roots of Honor’.
ONE Championship has been signing up several atomweights. Mei Yamaguchi is probably the top contender but the likes of Itsuki Hirata, Heqin Lin, Gina Iniong and Istela Nunes are all in the mix and Stamp Fairtex is looking to add an MMA title to her collection.
Nguyen can potentially jump the queue with an impressive performance against Bozhena Antoniyar (2-1). The Burmese atomweight is a veteran of three ONE Championship fights and is coming off a stoppage win against Audreylaura Boniface.
As previously announced Petchmorrakot Petchyindee and Giorgio Petrosyan will meet again at ONE: ‘Masters of Destiny’. The Thai won the first fight by decision only to see the result controversially overturned a few days later.
