Road FC 50 is set for Daejeon this Saturday and will be headlined by a featherweight title fight between champion Choi Mu-Gyeom and challenger Lee Jeong-Yeong. The former has held the title since 2014 and will be looking to set a promotional record by defending it successfully for the fourth time.
Mu-Gyeom (8-4) won the title by beating Kwon Bae-Yong in the final of the Road FC 145lbs tournament. He has since made title defences against Seo Doo-Won, Marlon Sandro and Murat Kazgan but faces a tough test at the Daejeon Chungmu Gymnasium against a young, hungry contender.
Lee Jeong-Yeong (5-1) established himself as the number one contender by stopping Kim Se-Yong, the only man to ever beat him, with strikes at Road FC 46. He made his pro debut in 2004 and has spent his entire career competing under the Road FC banner.
Also on the card Daejeon native Hong Young-Ki (4-4) faces Japanese veteran Koji Nakamura (15-14-3) in a lightweight bout. Meanwhile Choi Mu-Bae (12-7), who has been a professional for 14 years, takes on Fujita Kazuyuki (17-14) in an openweight clash between two of the most experienced fighters in the region.
