The draw for the quarter finals of the Deep-Jewels flyweight Grand Prix has been made and the favourites will be kept apart. Shizuka Sugiyama has been matched with Mikiko Shimizu while Rin Nakai faces Shoko Fujita.
Nakai (22-2-1) is a UFC veteran who is riding a six fight winning streak. She has been matched with Shoko Fujita (2-1) who only made her pro debut last year.
Sugiyama (20-6-1) is a Deep-Jewels veteran and has won her last four fights. She faces Mikiko Shimizu (3-1) in the first round of the tournament.
The other quarter final matchups pit Hanako Sawa (1-0) against Aoi Kuriyama (2-4) while Tae Murayama (2-1) takes on Kano Kagaya (2-1). The action takes place at Deep-Jewels 36 which is set for the New Pier Hall.
The card also features a couple of big super atomweight bouts. Saori Oshima (7-2) faces Namiko Kawabata (2-1) while Miki Motono (6-3) takes on Mizuki Oshiro (4-4).
