A strawweight fight between Edna Trakinas and Emi Fujino has been added to Pancrase 332. The two fighters will face off at the New Pier Hall in Tokyo on March 26th.

Fujino (26-13-0-1) turns 43 this year but continues to train and compete. The veteran is coming off a decision win over Ayaka Watanabe at a Pancrase event last October.

Fujino made her pro debut in 2004. She has been in with some of the biggest names in the atomweight and strawweight divisions including Weili Zhang, Xiaonan Yan and Mizuki Inoue.

Fujino has become used to fighting opponents half her age. The veteran’s most recent loss came at the hands of teenager Karen Pravajra who stopped her in the fourth round of their strawweight title fight at Pancrase 326.

Interim queen

Heading into that fight Fujino was the interim strawweight Queen of Pancrase. She came up short in her efforts to unify the title but despite missing out on the belt the 42 year old is determined to continue.

The two fighters first fought at Pancrase 308. Trakinas was forced to withdraw from that contest during the second round after fracturing her wrist and will be looking to secure her first win in Japan at the third attempt.

Trakinas (10-11-1) is a decade younger but has lost her last four fights. She fought on Pancrase 302 and can consider herself a little unlucky to have dropped a split decision to veteran boxer Raika Emiko on that occasion.

Back to back

Pancrase 331 will take place in the same venue the previous day. There are currently two fights on that card with all four fighters competing in the featherweight division.

Hirotaka Nakada (5-4) will be looking to bounce back from his decision loss to Takahiro Ashida at Pancrase 39. he has been matched with rising star Kisa Miyake who is looking to make it back to back wins.

Yohei Nada (12-6-2-0-1) is coming off back to back wins for the first time in his career. He will be looking to stop the rot when he takes on Yoshito Itokawa (2-0) who made his pro debut last year and is currently undefeated.
