Farid Basharat will be fighting at UFC Paris on September 2nd. The Afghan bantamweight has been matched with Kleydson Rodrigues at the Accor Arena.
Basharat (10-0) has followed in the footsteps of his older brother by earning a UFC contact after running up a perfect professional record and impressing on Dana White’s Contender Series. This will be his second octagon outing and he is coming off a win over Da’Mon Blackshear at UFC 285.
Basharat is based in London so won’t have to travel too far for this event. He faces an opponent who was booked to take on Tatsuro Taira in a flyweight fight but couldn’t make weight.

Rodrigues (8-2) never did get to fight Taira. But he has clearly decided to give up trying to get down to 125lbs and will be competing at bantamweight for the first time since 2016.
Rodrigues is coming off an impressive win over Shannon Ross at UFC 284. He needed less than a minute to finish the Australian and register his first win inside the octagon.

The main event is an all European heavyweight clash. Former title challenger Ciryl Gane (11-2) has been matched with Sergey Spivak (7-2), the former is #2 while the latter is #7.
The co-main event features a French fighter who made her name fighting in the Middle East. Manon Fiorot (10-1) was signed for the UFC after winning three fights in a row for UAE Warriors.
She is now ranked #10 at flyweight after winning her first five UFC fights. The 33 year old takes on former strawweight champion Rose Namajunas (11-5) who will be moving up to 125lbs for this fight.
