The lightweight title fight between Genpei Hayashi and Tatsuya Saika has been moved to Pancrase 315. The two are now set to face off at Shinkiba Studio Coast on May 31st.
Salimkhan Sadulloev is the reigning lightweight champion. He recently suffered an injury and it is unlikely he would be able to find a way to travel to Japan due to the current coronavirus, or Covid-19, restrictions.
Saika (6-1) is coming off back to back first round stoppage wins. He is currently ranked #3 in the lightweight division by and had originally been slated to face Hayashi at Pancrase 313.
Hayashi (10-8-1) is the #2 ranked lightweight and won two fights out of two in 2020. He was initially handed a title shot when Sadulloev pulled out of Pancrase 312.
As previously announced Pancrase 315 will feature a flyweight fight pitting top contenders Ryuichi Miki and Yusuke Ogikubo together. Meanwhile Takashi Matsuoka faces Koshi Matsumoto in the lightweight division.
Another lightweight match pits Kosuke Kindaichi against Sung Kwon Kim. In the strawweight division Teppei Maeyama has been matched with Tatsuki Ozaki while Hiroaki Ijima takes on Yuta Miyazawa.
Numerous MMA events in Japan have been cancelled or postponed in recent days including Pancrase 313 and 314, Deep Cage Impact Osaka, Shooto 0329 and Rizin 22 and 23.
The only other notable event currently on the calendar is Road to ONE 2, promoted by Shooto, which will take place in Tokyo on April 17th and features Shinya Aoki in a grappling match.
