Jake Paul and Tommy Fury won’t be the only boxers in action in the Middle East this weekend. Jacinta Austin is scheduled to take on Josefine Knutsson in an MMA fight at UAE Warriors 36 in Abu Dhabi.

Austin holds a 1-0 record in pro boxing and has also competed on K-1 cards in Japan. But the Australian’s main focus seems to be MMA and she will be looking to extend her undefeated record at the Etihad Arena on Saturday.

Austin (4-0) made her pro debut in 2021. She was last seen taking on ONE Championship veteran Nylene Crowley in August and won that fight with a rear naked choke in the second round.

Her opponent hails from Sweden, has K-1 experience and comes into this contest with an identical record. Knutsson (4-0) is coming off a win over Ye Dam Seo at Road to UFC 3.

UAE Warriors 36 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight. Abu Dhabi based Brazilian Bruno Machado (15-9) will be putting his title on the line against promotional newcomer Yun Jae Jung (8-2-1).

The card also features no fewer than three Filipino fighters. In the bantamweight division  Jayson Margallo (11-5) has been matched with UAE Warriors veteran Xavier Alaoui (13-4).

His compatriot Genil Francisco (12-7-0-1) will be competing at lightweight. The well travelled Filipino has been matched with  Shamil Magomedov (12-3-1) who has won two out of two for UAE Warriors.

At featherweight Mark Gregory Valerio (7-7) will be looking to snap a four fight losing streak dating all the way back to 2019. Opponent Dennis Buzukja (8-2) has won his last five and has scored victories for Bellator and Dana White’s Contender Series.
