Jaures Dea has been booked to face Andre Pinheiro at UAE Warriors 11 next week. The two featherweights will face off in the co-main event at the Mubadala Arena Hall in Abu Dhabi.
Dea (6-2-0-1) last fought at UAE Warriors 7 and was stopped with a body shot by Nawras Abzakh. But the referee inexplicably chose to give the Cameroonian time to recover before allowing the bout to continue.
Due to this refereeing error the fight finished in a majority draw rather than a KO win for Abzakh. But the result was subsequently changed to a no contest.
Pinheiro (10-2) is a BJJ black belt. He has spent his entire career competing in his native Brazil and has won titles on the regional scene but will be fighting overseas for the first time.
As previously announced reigning UAE Warriors light heavyweight champion Tarek Suleiman will be competing in the main event. He faces Juscelino Ferreira in a non-title catchweight clash.
The event will take place behind closed doors with several protocols and precautions in place to guard against the spread of coronavirus, or Covid-19. Representing UAE will be featherweight Ahmad Al Darmaki (1-5) but the identity of his opponent has not yet been announced.
