Jeremy Miado made it four wins in a row at ONE on Prime Video 3 this morning. The Filipino finished Danial Williams in the third round in Kuala Lumpur and a spot in the top five at strawweight surely awaits.
From the opening round Miado was able to pick his opponent apart with surgical precision. The Filipino had a reach advantage and used it to very good effect, continuously firing straight punches to his opponentβs face.
In the opening round Miado dropped Williams with a right hand and then continued to score with the same shot when his opponent worked his way up. Both men were happy to stay in the pocket and trade punches but the Filipino was clearly getting the better of these exchanges.

Right hand
Williams was looking to land the right hand but from the opening round it was clear that Miado had the advantage in terms of accuracy. The #5 ranked strawweight kept walking into his straight shots and by the time the second round started his face was a bloody mess.
In the second stanza Williams started to score with low kicks. Miado never looked troubled but the Thai / New Zealander did manage to disrupt his opponentβs rhythm by hacking away at his front leg.
Miado seemed content to keep his feet planted, absorb the impact of the kicks and look for an opportunity to land. It arrived towards the end of the round as he dropped Williams with a left hook and then started to tee off on the 29 year old who desperately looked for a takedown.

Quick turnaround
Miadoβs left hooks and straight right hands were consistently finding their mark in an increasingly one sided fight. Williams went into the final round knowing that he probably needed a stoppage to win.
But three straight right hands in a row from Miado connected and the third knocked Williams down with the referee quickly stepping in to save him from further punishment. The Filipino has not fought three times in a calendar year since 2018 but afterwards he asked for a quick turnaround,
