Lito Adiwang continued his comeback with a win that will surely mean a lot to the Filipino. He tore his knee ligaments during the first fight with Jeremy Miado and had to undergo surgery, leaving him sidelined for over a year.

At ONE Fight Night 16 this morning the two men rematched. This time nothing would stop Adiwang from claiming a decision victory that could see him return to the top five at strawweight.

In the opening round Adiwang three a left hook, straight right combo which dropped Miado. He three an onslaught of punches and the referee was taking a very close look at the action.

High volume

The punches were coming in high volume but none of them carried too much power and Miado was able to recover and tie Adiwang up in a clinch. The former Team Lakay representative was firmly in control of the fight as the first round ended.

In the second Adiwang started to score with low kicks and targeted the body with right hands. By the third round Miado was struggling to put any weight on his left leg and was forced to switch stance in order to protect it.

Miado has some highlight reel knockouts on his record. But with his leg having been damaged he struggled to put any power on his punches and as the fight reached its conclusion Adiwang had a broad grin on his face.

Final flurry

Miado tried to unload with a desperate final flurry of punches but Adiwang easily evaded them. With the knockdown in the first round and the accumulation of damage to the left leg there was no doubt who the winner will be.

All three judges scored it in favour of Adiwang whose swollen right eye was testament to the fact that Miado did have his moments. But they were few and far between as the comeback gains momentum.

Adiwang now has two wins out of two since returning from knee surgery and extensive rehabilitation. He moves up to 15-5 while Miado drops to 10-6.
