Jessa Khan has one of the biggest matches of her career coming up. But the BJJ black belt looked extremely relaxed as she shared some photos of herself holidaying in the Bahamas.

It has been a very good year for Khan who won gold medals at the SEA Games and the IBJJF World Championships. She has been rewarded with a shot at the inaugural ONE Championship atomweight submission grappling title.

Khan has yet to make her ONE Championship debut after seeing several bouts fall through. But the matchmakers were so impressed by her recent form that they decided to offer the 21 year old an immediate title shot.

At ONE Fight Night 14 on September 29th she will rematch Danielle Kelly. Khan prevailed in the first meeting but with the title on the line at the Singapore Indoor Stadium the stakes are higher second time around.

But Khan definitely didn’t look like she was feeling any pressure as she shared some sizzling holiday snaps from the Bahamas.

Dual nationality

Khan was born in the US but her father is Cambodian and she has represented his country on several occasions. She won two gold medals at the SEA Games and one at the Asian Games.

She first faced Kelly in 2021 at a ‘Who’s Number One’ event in her native Texas. Khan won that fight by decision and the rematch has been the subject of speculation ever since it was confirmed that both atomweights had signed with ONE Championship.

Kelly will be competing for the promotion for the fourth time at ONE Fight Night 14 while Khan is making her debut. She was scheduled to face Amanda Alequin at ONE 159 last year but that bout fell through.

Long wait

She might have had to wait a long time to compete for ONE Championship but the 21 year old has not been out of action. Earlier this year she won gold at the IBJJF World Championships in the 118lbs division.

It was Khan’s first time competing in the tournament as a black belt and she beat four separate opponents. In the final she secured a sweep in the final second to win the gold in dramatic fashion.

At ONE Fight Night 14 she will be competing without the gi. But Khan will be looking to add another title to her 2023 collection, and once she returns from the Bahamas the hard work will surely begin.
